I am a woman of Celtic origin who loves the natural world, exotic travel and discovery, linguistics, gourmet cooking, the art and mysticism of healing and body/soul intersections, anything equine, Argentine tango, and story telling.
I am licensed in both counseling psychology and bodywork technique. I began my practice in massage in 1969 while living in Mexico.
In 1983, I co-founded the original Academy of Healing Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and was a member of the staff. I also was a founding member of Southwestern College, a graduate school in Santa Fe centered on transpersonal counseling and art therapy.
I have been dancing Argentine tango for eleven years, and wrote a book, “Love Language”, inspired by many trips to Buenos Aires and experiencing the culture of tango. I have also written many stories and articles about tango, and it’s appeal to the public.
Areas of professional and philosophical interest are:
The fulfillment of individual purpose and service to community.
Using the poetic eye, voice, and human body to express love in it’s many forms.
The psychology of the body, interpreting emotional aspects and physical symptoms.
The need for humility, personal responsibility, the art of belonging, and the discipline of self care and acknowledgment
The healing quality of masculine/feminine polarities in relationship and within ourselves; The latter is taught in a workshop called Argentine Tango, the Relationship Dance, and was developed for counselors and social workers as a continuing education study.
I am the proud mother of a creative, brilliant, funny, enthusiastic and artistic son who is starting an exciting new business.
